Clay Center, NE March 20, 2008 — The Nebraska Autobody Association (NABA) announced today that it will become an affiliate member of the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS).

The unanimous decision to join SCRS was made during the last NABA board meeting at the 2008 Collision Industry Days event in Omaha Nebraska. “We see SCRS continuing to move in a positive direction and the NABA board decided it was time to join ranks and strengthen both state and national efforts,” said NABA president Scott Meints.

Operating in today’s ever-changing marketplace requires associations to become involved in joint industry efforts, and the unanimous vote by the NABA board to join SCRS is a resolute decision that it is time to unite. Unifying the collision repair industry through active participation in local, state and national association initiatives will be vital to the survival of the collision repair trade. “We can only make a difference by becoming actively involved and being part of those associations that support the objectives of organized collision repair.” Meints added. “We will continue to educate consumers, claimants and policy holders on their right to receive a quality repair, as well as educate our members of new technical issues.”

NABA plans to immediately participate in SCRS’s monthly legislative meetings to be at the forefront of state initiatives and build upon the successes and experiences of other associations. NABA will also work with other industry segments to promote the interests of the vehicle owner and to advocate quality of repair to ensure claimants receive the full coverage promised under the policy of insurance.
