STRONGSVILLE, Ohio – February 7, 2007 – The PPG Automotive Refinish Show Truck will travel across the United States this year from March to November with 23 appearances in 19 states at hot rod and car shows as well as special events. The masterfully painted truck and trailer features colors from the PPG Vibrance Collection™ of custom finishes, in a design created by Larry Wood, chief designer for Hot Wheels®, a Mattel, Inc. brand.

The truck will travel across the United States this year from March to November with 23 appearances in 19 states at hot rod and car shows as well as special events.

This year’s Show Truck exhibit offers many new exciting features and updates. A new 2007 Freightliner Coronado tractor will be pulling the trailer this year, painted in the same tremendous design and colors as the previous tractor. The 50-foot trailer is a former NASCAR racing team hauler and includes a meeting room that boasts state-of-the-art technology. A new purple tent will go up next to the trailer, and tables in the tent will be covered with matching fabric tablecloths. A colorful banner, “Make It Happen -With PPG” will be posted around the grounds at each exhibit.

New exhibit items include new color card displays for the many PPG custom color cards. These displays will include the recently introduced Hot Wheels â Spectraflame® colors for use in automotive refinishing. This new co-branded Hot Wheels®/PPG Industries paint line was created by PPG and Mattel, Inc. color stylists to emulate the eye-catching and vibrant Spectraflame® colors featured in Hot Wheels® toy cars.

Other new items include a chip book counter rack designed to hold a history of PPG color information, and a telescoping flagpole to fly the U.S., PPG, and event flags. A new coloring book will be available, with a fresh cover designed by PPG custom paint instructor Paul Stoll, and, of course, the Kid’s Coloring Contest will be held at every event, where children in six age groups compete for cash prizes designing a color scheme for a street rod.

Attendees at all shows will be able to order the latest PPG polo shirts in yellow, blue, and purple, as well as calendars and other PPG memorabilia.

With a total of 36 shows booked, and all these new features and display options, the PPG team is ready to “put the show on the road!”
