STRONGSVILLE, OHIO – October 18, 2006 – Considered one of the country’s most diverse builders of quality choppers, baggers, and kustoms, Brian Klock of Klock Werks Kustom Cycles in Mitchell, South Dakota, will be featured on the Discovery Channel Biker Build-Off Monday, October 23 at 9 p.m. Eastern Time. The Biker Build-Off, which is broadcast all over the world, pits well-known bike designers against one another to create the ultimate chopper. Klock’s creation, which dazzled voters with a custom finish from the PPG Vibrance Collection, was the winner of this Build-Off competition.
Klock’s Build-Off winner, which he called the “WFB,”or “Way Fast Bagger,” was the first “bagger” ever to win the Biker Build-Off. Klock began the 10-day bike-building odessy with his signature WFB frame that the Klock team developed in cooperation with Rolling Thunder MFG in Quebec, Canada. The bike has a 124 cubic inch S&S TwinCam style motor with a Closed Loop Fuel injection system (VFI) and is backed by a Baker Drivetrain Six Speed transmission. The wheels are carbon fiber from Revolution MFG, and the tires are Avon.

A fabulous bike needs a fabulous finish, so Klock relied on PPG finishes and the help of Randy Cahoy, his PPG Territory Manager, to complete his award-winning creation. Klock utilized several custom mixing pigments from the PPG Vibrance Collection to create a unique look. The main color was Candy Apple Red, adorned with graphics designed by Gene Slater and Tex McDorman from TexEfx of Sanger, Texas.
Klock has used PPG finishes since 1993. When asked what he liked about PPG products, he is passionate. “You wouldn’t try a cake if the frosting was bad,” he quips. “Don’t skimp on paint for your custom vehicle. You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression. Paint counts. Paint wins.” What does he like about PPG? “PPG’s constant efforts to keep end users informed is very impressive,” he adds. “PPG provides us with great material, the latest special effect finishes, and the quality that matches up to the level of our builds. The longevity of the products and the company speak for themselves. They are the world leader.”
Immediately after winning the Build-Off, the bike earned the title “World’s Fastest Bagger” by winning an AMA national record for the world’s fastest bagger, at the Bonneville Salt Flats, with a top speed of 147.359 mph. In addition to setting the AMA record, Klock’s fiance, Laura Ellifson, who rode the WFB to victory, was one of only four women competing.
