NASCAR DRIVER JEREMY MAYFIELD TO DISPLAY CERTIFIEDFIRST® NETWORK LOGO ON
EVERNHAM MOTORSPORTS™ NO. 19 DODGE DEALERS/UAW DODGE CHARGER
STRONGSVILLE, Ohio – February 14, 2006 – PPG’s CertifiedFirst® Network announced
today that they will be displaying the CertifiedFirst® Network logo on Evernham Motorsports No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger driven by Jeremy Mayfield for the Auto Club 500
at California Speedway on Sunday, February 26. The race will begin at 3:30 p.m. ET and will be
broadcast nationally on FOX.
“We are very excited about this opportunity and look forward to PPG’s continued
partnership with Evernham Motorsports” stated Paul Ong, Marketing Manager, CertifiedFirst
Network. “Many of our CertifiedFirst® Network participants are huge NASCAR fans and we
are very eager to see if Jeremy Mayfield can take the checkered flag in California like he did in
2000.”
“We had a good test at Las Vegas, so we expect the things we learned there and during
other tests to translate into a good setup for California,” Jeremy Mayfield said. “Combine that
with the attitude of this team and it's easy to see why we're eager to get to California. This race
will provide a real picture of the season ahead. Teams will leave California knowing they can
be competitive or there's a lot of work to be done.”
PPG Industries has sponsored Evernham Motorsports since 1999 and worked closely in
2005 on the “Charity Chopper” initiative, which raised more than $134,000 for The Leukemia &
Lymphoma Society, a charity sponsored by Ray Evernham’s foundation - Racing for a Reason.
Ray Evernham, President and CEO of Evernham Motorsports, also recently spoke at the 2006
PPG Refinish North American Sales Conference in Orlando, Fla.
About the CertifiedFirst Network
The CertifiedFirst® Network, North America’s leading collision repair network, is comprised of
over 1,900 quality-rated, performance-focused dealership and independently-owned auto body
repair centers. One of the most important aspects of the CertifiedFirst® Network is that the
standards required to be met by participating auto body repair centers are verified by independent
third parties. The standards, consistent across the CertifiedFirst® Network, are divided into two
major categories – an evaluation of the repair center itself, on aspects ranging from its facilities
to employee training, and measurement of the satisfaction level of the repair center’s customers.
