STRONGSVILLE, Ohio – January 26, 2006 – PPG has added two new courses to its distributor business training curriculum for 2006. A comprehensive selection of business development classes are available to PPG distributors.

The two new classes are the “Excel Inside Sales” and the “Excel Outside Sales” courses. Both classes are designed to help the PBE refinish salesperson complete a self-evaluation that identifies their individual strengths and weaknesses as well as help them to develop personal and business plans for growth. Key areas such as attitude, communication, image, and the complete customer sales process are addressed.

The classes emphasize learning how to maintain a positive attitude, understanding how to handle difficult customer complaints, how to grow sales through effective preparation and how to develop a personal and professional plan to establish their goals and more.

“The distributor business development series is designed to help distributor owners, managers and sales staff evaluate their personal and business practices and develop a strategy to achieve growth and profitability based on real world best practices,” said Bill Troyer, manager of training for PPG Automotive Refinish. “Many hours are spent conducting research to develop courses to provide the best information and advice available to our PPG distributors.”

PPG offers additional business classes for distributors in 2006. They include “Guide to Collision Center Profitability,” “Situational Sales Negotiation,” and “Excellence in Distribution Management.” The Distribution Development Series (DDS) includes “Sales and Marketing,” “Operations, Organization & Personnel,” and “Business Planning and Finance.”

All classes are held at state-of-the-art PPG Business Development Centers across North America. Courses are developed and taught by experienced industry professionals.
