STRONGSVILLE, Ohio – November 23, 2005 – PPG Commercial Performance Coatings has announced its training schedule for distributors of PPG Commercial Performance Coatings for the 2006 calendar year. The Commercial Performance Coatings line provides an offering of products designed for mid-size commercial and industrial manufacturers.

All courses are designed for Commercial Performance Coatings distributors, store managers, inside sales staff and outside sales personnel who want to increase their knowledge of commercial and industrial coatings product line, color and equipment.

Classes are held at state-of-the-art PPG Business Development Centers across North America, and are taught by experienced, highly qualified instructors. Classes available in 2006 are:

TheCommercial Performance Coatings Product Technologies course explains not only PPG’s Commercial Performance Coatings products and technologies but also how their use can be profitable and productive in customer environments. Hands-on spray activities, product demonstrations, classroom lecture, and group discussion are included in this program. Topics covered include substrate preparation, pretreatment, coating fundamentals, curing mechanisms, application considerations, specifications and a marketing overview.

The Color Accurate Systems course familiarizes students with a basic knowledge of color theory and PPG’s Color Accurate software, while providing hands-on experience in creating new formulas and matching existing customer colors. The class explains how color theory works and also provides practical knowledge on applying color theory, software and equipment needed to service commercial and industrial customers.

PPG’s Advanced Commercial Equipment course provides an understanding of the types of equipment used during the paint application process in commercial and industrial accounts. The course covers all aspects of equipment from compressed systems, pressurized fluid delivery equipment, airless, air assisted and electrostatic equipment. The course focuses heavily on hands-on setup and spray activities, and also provides product demonstrations, classroom lectures and small group discussions.

Commercial Performance Coatings Powder

New in 2006 is the Commercial Performance Coatings Powder Course. This one-day class covers the basics of powder technology, application methods and an overview of PPG powder products. The course also includes information on how to order powder product. Classes are presented by PPG experts in Powder Coatings.
